ADARSHDEEP AKSHAMTA PUNARVAS KENDRA (AAPK) is a non-political, non-religious, non-government voluntary organization registered under Societies Registration Act. It was started by a group of committed specialists initially in the year 1998  for the rehabilitation of mentally retarded people from weaker sections of the society and slowly it expanded its activities touching various areas such as empowerment, child labour issues, reproductive and Child health issues, entrepreneurship etc. In the process the organization has established its branches cum smaller field offices at various places of Chhattisgarh.


The organization withstood the tests of the time from the beginning and in the process it reformed its structure in a way to meet the present condition of the society thereby restricting the dilution of the overall goals and vision. Several changes in the reforms have been undertaken and finally it could establish as a renowned and stable organization with various activities and with a good name and fame in the society.






To ensure a just society with equity, self sustained, free from poverty and with an atmospheric tranquility.

Broadly the objectives of the organization are as follows


  • Complete rehabilitation of all types of disabilities and establishment of related institutions for the welfare of the disabled persons
  • To advocate with concerned agencies, departments for ensuring the basic civil rights of the organization
  • To work for the empowerment of women
  • To build the capacity of individuals of the society for availing the facilities, starting entrepreneurship etc.
  • To network with associations those are working for the welfare of disabled persons.
  • To coordinate with related organization whose objectives are coinciding with the organizational objectives

Programmes and activities


The following are the important tools of the organization.

 Yoga & Vocational Training Centre for Mentally retarded children: The organization is running a permanent yoga center for disabled children. Presently there are 30 inhabitants and they are being given integrated treatment for bringing them to the normal life. Most of the inhabitations are mentally retarded.





Child Labour school : The organization is running a child labour school at Ramsagarpara under National Child Labour programme. There are 50 students and four staff running the school.


 Labour Education Programme : With the help of Labour Board , the organization is continuously conducting Labour education programme at Raipur. Majority of the labour are rickshaw pullers.


 Capacity building programme : The organization is imparting training programme with the support of NABARD for technical education in various trades. Already the organization has implemented three such programmes.



 RCH Programme : The organization is appointed as the Field NGO for the implementation of RCH-II activities under NRHM at Chhura Block of Raipur district. Presently the orgaisation has conducted the preparatory activities such as situational analysis and Base line survey and it is going to implement the programme soon. It is aimed at reducing the IMR and MMR at unserved and underserved areas of the block.





The organization is running three units of Empowerment for Women SHGs at Rapur  and Jagdalpur . Also the organization is running temporary branches at those places



Legal Awareness Programme : The organization has conducted legal awareness programme for women supported by Central Social Welfare Board.



Advocacy programmes : For the disabled benefits the organization has been advocating with the government for the civil rights and also for making the disabled avail the facilities of governmental schemes. Already the organization has conducted seminars and workshops with the support of Social Welfare department of government. Another programme was conducted for the sensitization of attenders of the disabled persons.



Rural Insurance : The organization is presently promoting the rural insurance scheme of Birla Sunlife Insurance company for the pregnant women and rural poor.


 Support to PFI : The organization has been continuously supporting Population Foundation of India, the Regional Resource Centre at Chhattisgarh for their sensitization and training programmes for RCH-II activities.

 Networking : The organization is a network partner of Help group of NGOs for advocating the disability issues and their benefits. It is representing all the seminars and workshops in this relation. Also the organization is supporting related agencies such as SMILE, Kopel Vaani, PIYALI which are delivering services to disabled persons on various areas.

 SHG Capacity building : The organization has been imparting training to SHGs on various issues as well as ensuring Micro-financing and ensuring market arrangement for their products in Raipur, Jagdalpur.



 Community Sensitization Programme; The organization has been conducting, Community Sensitization Programme in the issue of Female infanticide, Chlid labours and for mentally challenge children. it has organized Street play at different areas of raipur.
